Easter Special: Chocolate Ice-Cream


Happy Easter friends! Who ever said you can’t have ice-cream for breaky? Whip this treat up Easter morning for the fam and you’ll be in everyone’s good books. It tastes so sweet and chocolately that you won’t even notice how unbelievably healthy it is. Add the chocolate sauce on top if you want to get really crazy and even chuck on a few cacao nibs for a bit of crunch. Another delicious addition… homemade chocolate! Have a fun weekend everyone!


Chocolate Ice-Cream




2 bananas, frozen

1 date, pitted

3 Tbsp cacao

1 tsp vanilla extract

Splash of almond milk (or any plant-based milk)



2 dates, pitted (soaked in hot water for at least 10 minutes to soften, drain)

2 Tbsp cacao



Topping Suggestions

Coconut flakes/shredded coconut

Dates, chopped

Goji Berries


Any choice of fruit

Cacao nibs

Homemade chocolate




1. Place serving bowl in freezer to cool so ice-cream will stay frozen for longer once served

2. Add all ‘ice-cream’ ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. If you have a vitamix, use the      tamper, or if not, you may need to keep stopping to push all the ingredients towards the blade. If        the blender is still struggling, add more liquid

3. Once smooth and creamy, scoop ice-cream into the cold bowl and place back in freezer



1. Add all ‘sauce’ ingredients into a blender (don’t worry about cleaning the blender after the ice-          cream)

2. Blend until completely smooth, adding water to reach desired consistency

3. Grab your ice-cream out of the freezer, add choice of toppings and drizzle the chocolate sauce on    top
